What kind of place is the world we exist?
We cannot come up with an absolute answer, unless our spirit – the basic element composing the space – is incorporated in contemporary unified field theory.
Everything in the natural world, from the heavenly bodies to the cells and elementary particles, are connected with each other and interact together. Further, our consciousness, emitted thoughts and words are spreading in all directions throughout the world.
Everything consists of two worlds: visible and invisible.
Each time, whenever I acquired a new “language” as painting, I learned various things from the shapes and elements which appeared in my works. When my own self, and the movement of the paints agree and resonate with each other, the world I’m searching for, such as the mysteries of space, our consciousness and lives come to light. Niels Bohr, who was a major figure in advances in quantum mechanics, overturning the previous views of the world from its very foundation in the early 20th century, was a cubist collector, and his thought originated from cubist paintings. It would be my supreme pleasure if my works contribute to scientific discoveries and its development.

Pictorial Perception of the World

The works of MARUTA Kyoko, which overwhelm viewers by the dynamism created by the movement of their spiral lines complicatedly entwined with each other, which expand even into an outer space beyond the canvas, invite viewers to a different dimension. After becoming a pharmacist, MARUTA went to America and studied painting at the Art Students League of New York, where she noticed the importance of lines and became aware of Oriental thought. After returning to Japan, she created her works with themes such as “Yin and Yang,” “Spiral,” and “Osmosis.” Now, she cleverly incorporates every aforementioned theme in each of her works.
MARUTA’s idea is that painting can reveal and hold everything in a mere moment of viewing.
She is an extraordinary painter who creates works based on the scientific perception she acquired and her own pictorial perception of the world.
