Shigakogen Roman Museum located in Yamanouchi-machi, designed by the world-famous architect, Kurokawa Kisyo, with the concept of “exhibiting independence under the theme of symbiosis with nature, while producing good harmony with the surrounding environment,” opened in autumn 1997.
The exhibition hall leading to the second floor is arranged to surround the atrium exhibition room. The geometrically shaped display stands are built-in, at appropriate intervals and height, so that the exhibits stand out. It seems as if they are in conversation with each other and conveying messages from the works themselves. It’s interesting how the works of three artists will be on display in this exhibition room for the “Shinbism 5” exhibition. Moreover, thinking about how the works of these three unique artists, the exhibit space and the sensitivity of viewers, will resonate with each other is exciting, as well!
